I'm pretty obsessed with Hand car washes now; I haven't washed my own car in years....like with all the dirt and grime all over the place, why overwork yourself trying to half-clean your own car when you can pay professionals to do it? LOL. And my visit to LA was no different, I definitely wanted a quick clean touch-up on my SUV rental that gathered up one too many stupid bugs on the freeway driving down. Downey Hand Car Wash is a fairly big place next to Arco, and they have a lot of workers running around. It can be confusing when first coming in because there are two sides: the express side and the side with vacuums. Make sure you figure out which side you're on because there's not much organization lol. I got the Exterior Gold wash, which includes the lower tier levels washes plus some sort of Triple Foam Conditioner, Extreme Shine Wax. Surface Protectant, and additional Tire Dressing after the Wheel blasting. The wash tunnel which the car goes through looks like a cool video arcade lane, and you can watch from the inside and look at the little kids going all bonkers over it so that's kinda fun. Let me tell you, my SUV went in looking like it crashed through a wall of bugs and came out looking so shiny AND the windows bug free to the tee! So I was impressed. The workers could use a little more training and could stand to not rush so much, but overall, for an express Exterior Wash, I was satisfied. However they definitely have to watch how they are drying the cars because some of the towels leave surface scratches (small, but still noticeable). Some good scratch remover products should clear that up though.
